A Message to the UB Community:
On Sept. 22, 2017, the U.S. Department of Education withdrew two documents regarding Title IX: an April 4, 2011 Dear Colleague Letter, and a 2014 Q&A. These documents had provided additional guidance for colleges responding to, investigating, and adjudicating issues related to sexual misconduct. The Department released a new Dear Colleague Letter and a Q&A, and indicated it will continue to enforce the 2001 guidance.
These changes have no effect on UB’s current policy on sexual misconduct, and on Title IX as a law.?For UB employees, your obligation remains unchanged:?You are required to report any and all instances of sexual misconduct.
We want to reaffirm the University of Baltimore's commitment to creating a campus that is safe from sexual misconduct, including sexual and gender-based harassment, sexual violence, and other offenses. Title IX, Maryland law, and?UB’s Sexual Misconduct Policy and Nondiscrimination Statement?will continue to be followed and enforced at the University of Baltimore.
For assistance with matters concerning sexual misconduct, visit UB's?Title IX website.
